3. Tigers are mostly nocturnal animals and hunt primarily at night.
4. Their diet consists mainly of large mammals such as deer, wild boar and buffalo.
5. Tigers are excellent swimmers and can even swim long distances.

7. Tigers have an incredible sense of smell and can detect their prey from up to 1.6 kilometres (1 mile) away.
8. They also have very good night vision and can see six times better than humans in low light conditions.
